R.Shoba, IFS, Prl. Chief Conservator of Forests (Head of Forest Force), Telangana State Visited Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad to review the situation and precautionary measures taken up during the Corona Virus lock down period. She along with Dr.Sidhanand Kukretty, IFS, Director, Zoo Parks and Smt.N.Kshitija, IFS, Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad took stock of the various prophylactic measures taken up by the zoo management to eradicate the Corona Virus (Covid-19) in the entire zoo(Pathways and animal enclosures ) .
The entire zoo has been sprayed with Anti-Viral liquid, Sodium Hypochlorate and bleaching powder was spread alternatively every week since 1 st week of March- 2020. The Prl. Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF) & Chief Wildlife Warden appreciated the commitment of Zoo staff who are serving the wildlife in the lock down period.
The Prl. Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF) & CWW also expressed happiness on the birth of the (Three) Royal Bengal Tiger cubs, (Two) African Lion Cubs, (Six) jackal Puppies and (two) Blue Gold Macaw chicks which are born during the lock down period. She has observed the Royal Bengal Tiger cubs through the monitor in the Tiger moat area.
Smt.R.Shoba, IFS, Prl.Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF), T.S. inaugurated the first crop of Banana which is being cultivated in the Zoo fodder plot premises. She expressed happiness and appreciated the zoo management and staff for their dedication and service in maintain the good health of 1700 animals housed in zoo and also maintain proper hygiene in the zoo .
