Trainee Civil Servants Celebrate ‘Bathukamma’

The trainee Civil Servants belonging to 15 All India Services and Central Civil Services and representing 22 Sates from across the country, who are attending the 94th Foundation Course at Dr MCR HRD Institute, celebrated the floral festival of Telangana, ‘Bathukamma’, with gaiety and reverence. The entire campus of the Institute was decked up with vibrant flowers as a part of the grand celebrations.

The proactive participation of the trainee Civil Servants from across the country, especially their female counterparts, in the festivities was a pleasant surprise for one and all. Singing and dancing around colourful flowers, carefully arranged in circular rows in a brass plate, was one of the highlights of the celebrations.

The dazzling display of their colourful costumes and dancing skills captured the hearts of everyone present.

BP Acharya, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to Government & Director General, Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana said that the celebration of this festival is an opportunity for the trainee Civil Servants, who come from different parts of the country, to understand the rich culture, heritage, and values of Telangana State.

“Even though Bathukamma is a Sate festival of Telangana, it is now being celebrated not only across the country but also abroad. Participation in this festival, which is an embodiment of Telangana’s rich cultural identity,was a rare honour for all of us”, said the entire trainee Civil Servants unanimously.
