As the 144 section was reimposed in Jammu and Kashmir, there are no celebrations of Bakrid on the roads. Curfew like the situation is prevailing in the valley. Even there are fewer congregations at the masjid in J and K.
Truckloads of Goats which were brought in for the sake of Bakrid were stopped outside by the police forces.
There is no business for the Bakris in J and K this time.
Some of the youth who are against the decision of BJP government stated that there is no festival in the valley and that people are doing matham here. Matham is not celebrating and observing the death of someone.
Some J and K leaders have filed petitions against the BJPP Government questioning the reorganisation of the J and K . There are also leaders and people who have welcomed the decision of the Government.
But the situation is not conducive for the festivities here. Bakrid is the first festival of the Muslims that has come soon after the re-organiation bill was passed. Earlier the Government advisor Ajit Doval has visited the valley, but it was not that encouraging.
Soon after that, the 144 section was reclamped in the valley. It is like a lull before a storm said some of the observers who are monitoring the situation in the Valley.
