As predicted Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir has ended. The bill to this effect has been introduced by Minister for Home Amit Shah today. It is reported that Jammu, Kashmir and Laddakh will be re-organised into different and distinct areas.
Amidst chaos and confusion created by the Opposition parties, the ruling party BJP led by Amit Shah has introduced the bill for reorganising Jammu Kashmir and Laddakh apart from repealing Article 370.
The removal of 370 ends the special status to Kashmir. With this Jammu and Kashmir will have a legislature and Laddakh will remain a Union Territory.
The top leaders like Farroqh and Omar Abdullah were kept under House arrest to introduce the same. This is a huge step from the Government side after coming to power for the second time.
The Cabinet met at the Prime Minister Modis house and moved to the parliament to move this bill repealing article 370.
