When you think of Bonalu festival it is theen maar songs and dances. Singing of songs and conveying the message became popular from the Telangana agitation. It is the thinking of K Chandrasekhar Rao that made the writers to pen songs for the agitation. Earlier for Bonalu songs were there but not at this level. Most of the songs are in Telangana dialect and the music is fast being called as the theen maar.
Some films songs are also converted into religious songs for Bonalu. But all of them are with a beat and ready to dance with the Bonam.
