Kaleshwaram drives away the water problems of 4 crore people of Telangana. Its time for Godavari Jathara.. Kaleswarma project is ready for launch. One must thank the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his vision and hard work for the implementation of the project on time and in some areas ahead of the schedule.
Its time for the auspicious launch of the Godavari which is always full and pregnant with water all along. All the hearts are beating with the Vedic chants for the launch of Godavari waters. Medigadda, Annaram, Sundilla, Yellampally are the main barrages under the project.
The Kaleashwaram project has 22 lifts, 22 pump houses, Substations, surge pools, tunnels and canals.
Not just one, not just two, thousands of people, were working day and night, and they have come together for a gigantic task for quenching the thirst of crores of Telanganites. History will remember them. It would stay in history forever for the bright future of the present and future generations.
The project has a unique and difficult Terrain.Telangana is situated in Deccan Plateau. It is very high above sea level. One has to lift the water with the help of pumps to the Godavari. That is the reason 22 pumps and 22 motors have been erected for the Kaleshwaram project. With reverse pumping the water is taken up to SRSP.
That is the reason engineers have used giant motors for the project. 7 Bahuabli motors have been used for the package 8 pump house in Ramadugu of lakshmipur with 139-megawatt capacity. Nowhere in the world such a kind of Pump houses were used so far.
These motors will pump the water to a height of 115 metres. The water will flow into the flood canal of Sriramsagar from Pochampad at a stretch of 122 kilometres. The motors used in package 6 are with a capacity of 124 megawatts. These pumps will take the water to a height of 105 metres to Nandimedaram tank.
