The fact that Chandrababu distanced himself from the BJP was to become the Prime Minister with the help of Congress and other like-minded parties. He was confident that the TDP would get a good number of seats. This was nothing but overambition and overconfidence from Chandrababu.
In the name of special status, he made U-turn and started distancing himself from the BJP, by lashing out at the PM apart from Amit Shah the BJP President. This was disclosed by the PM Modi in the NDA meeting. He said that it was the overambition that ruined the TDP and Chandrababu in Andhra.
The very fact that he has called Modi, Shah as the corrupt people made a lot of difference to him. Babu has also charged that both Amit Shah and his son were corrupt people. There are indications that Modi and Shah indirectly helped the YSRC in winning the election from Andhra Pradesh along with the Telangana CM KCR.
PM Modi and Home Minister Shah said that Chandrababu wanted to become the PM and then was nursing the ambition of making his son Lokesh as the Chief Minister.
Chandrababu could not maintain proper relations with KCR and also Modi. That was the reason he lost the election miserably. Moreover, Jagan has worked very hard for the election.
