The stage is set for the Presentation of the Interim Budget for the year 2019-20 in the state Assembly of Telangana.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will be the first Chief Minister to present the interim budget in the Assembly for a Telugu state.
It will be the first budget of the Telangana state to be presented by a Chief Minister of the state. There is no Finance Minister as yet named for the state after the cabinet expansion.
Congress leader Nedurumally Janardhan Reddy presented the budget when he was the Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh. Nedurumalli was the CM of the state for a brief period.
The stage is set for the presentation of the Budget. Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has supervised the arrangements for the 3 day session of the budget. This budget Presentation will be in history as the first CM of the state presenting the budget for the first time in Telangana.
The State budget is likely to be around 2 lakh crore. The cabinet meeting has taken stock of the situation and the chief Minister has explained the ministers on the composition of the Budget here at the Pragathi Bhavan.
It may be noted that even at the centre the budget was presented by Piyush Goel in the absence of the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Generally, the Chief Minister gives the responsibility of presenting the budget to another minister in case of the absence of the Finance Minister.
But now the Chief Minister who is adopting a different method this time has taken the responsibility to present the budget.
The Cabinet has yesterday approved the Interim Budget at Pragathi Bhavan.
