Making movies and acting in movies is a different ball game altogether. Some of them can be good directors but they cannot become actors. Some very good actors can also become good directors some times. It all depends on how people receive them. When it comes to Karan Johar he wants to try out everything.
He was producer a very good director. But he could not become a good actor. The first movie that he tried has failed at box office. So far people say he is unable to walk like a man properly. But there is no doubt about his acting abilities.
Karan Johar made his acting debut with Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet. Yes the same movie which released two years and we all wondered why did the director even try and attempt such a project. The movie had created lot of buzz before it’s release courtesy Anushka’s lip surgery which went horribly wrong.
One of the other reasons why the movie was anticipated was also Karan Johar. There was a huge discussion in the industry when Karan agreed to do this movie and mind you, it was no cameo. He had a full-fledged antagonist’s role in the movie.
We are sure the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director was initially very thrilled for this new venture but it’s final result must have disappointed him as well. The movie received a huge setback at box office and so did Johar’s acting dream. We all loved kaizad Khambatta on screen and he even acted well but guess Karan is successful when it comes to direction and not action!
But there are rumors that he is planning to act in yet another movie.
