Prime Minister Modi has addressed several public meetings but so far he has not addressed any press meets in specific. Modi has been on the radio with Man Ki baat. This is all one side communication and there must be a chance where the press can pose some questions to Modi.
There used to be a press team for Prime Ministers foreign visits, but Modi scrapped that. Doordarshan was allowed only for a few trips.
Especially that the campaign for 5 states has ended and the opposition is trying to form a grand alliance against the NDA Modi must come before the press. The Congress chief Rahul Gandhi has been addressing the press meets here and there. He has addressed two press meets in Hyderabad.
But so far the Prime Minister did not bother to meet the press. He has been shouting from the rooftops on development. He has been addressing big election rallies so on and so forth. But he did not give any chance to the press to question him.
Modi is answerable to the people and the media must be given an opportunity to talk to him or by using the technology he must allow the people to ask him questions.
If not directly he must come in some format where he would answer the people. In a democracy, accountability is very important.
The results of elections in 5 states will definitely indicate the mood of the people in the country.
