The people of Telangana are busy with Pujas for Karthika Pournami. Karthika Pournami is being observed since yesterday afternoon. People light diyas or oil lamps at houses and worship god. Some of them will be on fasting and some others also go for a holy dip. The worship is for Lord Shiva and Keshava . It is considered as an auspicious day. Some are doing the pooja this morning also.
Most of the Temples have started the Archana and pooja early this morning. Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam and Srisailam are full with pilgrims. Most of the Telangana Temples are busy since yesterday with religious Tourism. Tulasi tree is also worshipped with oil lamps like the Diwali.
Fasting on this day will give a lot of Punya it is being said. In some Temples, Anna Danam that is free distribution of food is also being done. Some politicians were also seen in the Temples worshipping the god for the victory.
In some Temples, skylights were also arranged to Dwjasthmbham to show light to the sky. Even at home people look at the sky and moon after lighting the lamps.
