The Congress party has called for a Bharat bandh to be observed today. But the fuel prices have gone up last night. The fuel prices have gone up 10 times under revision on day to day basis and they were revised even after the band was called. Most of the schools are closed across the Nation. The other sectors of the society is running as usual.
Some Auto unions are participating in the Bandh. Some truck owners are wearing black badges. Petrol bunks were forcibly closed here and there. The RTCs are running the buses as usual. Mamatha the CM openly said no to the bandh. The Bandh will not be a success because the Congress-ruled governments are in a few states. They don’t have proper cadre or power in other states and enforcing the bandh against the wish of the ruling party is near to impossible.
The petrol rate is hovering around Rs85 and the Diesel rate is hovering around Rs 76 since last one week. The Government blames it on the prices of crude oil at International level. The Congress says that the Government was not bothered about the plight of the common man and that it is not controlling the fuel rates, and that they are making a hole into the pocket of the common man on day to day basis.
Except for closing the schools, the life looked near to normal in Hyderabad and other metros. An alternative mode of transport is being made available in other parts of the country where there some effect of the Bharat Bandh.
