Geeta Govindam has reached Rs 100 crore mark in two weeks and is all set to reach the mark of Rs 150 crore. Its rare feet for a new hero who has not even done a dozen films. In the age of internet and video piracy, a small budget movie directed by a relatively new director with one or two films is crossing the hundred crore mark.
Vijay the hero has entered the big league now. Sometimes reaching 100 crores these days has become a difficult task for heroes like Mahesh and Allu Arjun. But Vijay Devarakonda has proved that he has that stamina and he is a long distance runner.
But all the credit goes to Allu Aravind the mega strategist who gave the initial hype to the movie with the publicity blitz from Chiranjeevi and Allu Arjun. They equated Vijay with Power star Pawan Kalyan and that made all the difference to the movie. It added to the image of Vijay and also the movie Geeta Givindam.
In real terms, one who goes to the movie with high expectations will get disappointed. But the publicity is drawing huge crowds to the theatres and the youth are lapping it for the sake of Vijay Devarakonda. The lady lead is just for the sake of adding glamour. Vijay managed to keep her at one side by his acting abilities. It is a soft roll bu Vijay has killed all others performance with his attitude and ease.
Director Parasuram also moulded the characters very well and saw to it that there no extra dose for any character. It was balanced properly and thanks to the guidance from Geeta arts.
