The candidate of the ruling party NDA Harivansh Narayan Singh has been elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha here today. He has won by 17 votes on the opposition candidate BK Hariprasad. Singh has graduated from a Journalist to the Deputy Chief of the Rajyasabha which is a significant achievement. The TRS supported the ruling party member for the Rajyasabha post.
The TDP supported the Congress candidate. This indicated that the TDP has aligned with the Congress and this might continue for the elections in 2019. Harivansh is from UP is born in a middle-class family.
He has worked for many news agencies and establishment known for his integrity. He was nominated to Rajyasabha in 2014 which itself is a big achievement. He was with socialist leader JP and participated in many agitations. He also worked with Bank of India. He worked as a journalist for more than 25 years.
The election of Naryan signals that the TRS is with the BJP and that the TDP is with the Congress and this will continue for the next elections.
