This Botanical Garden is located in Kothaguda reserve forest encircled with densely populated IT corridor area with a well-connected transport system for the Hyderabad citizens as well as to the outsiders to come and enjoy the natural beauty by forgetting concrete jungle. Out of total area of 274 acres of reserve forest, the developmental activities are being restricted to 12 acres of visitors zone of Botanical Garden under IGBN Green New Building Rating System.
Nakshatra Vanam, Rasi Vanam & Navagraha Vanams have been developed in beautiful, systematic and scientific pattern with display boards to educate and propagate its importance among the visitors. Eye soothing sprawling lawns beautiful colourful flowering shrubs & herbs & Rose Garden would definitely create memorable impressions among the visitors.
Herbal/Medicinal Garden with more than 60 important species with display boards depicting the importance & its uses in daily life small Butterfly Park, good & rare collection of attractive xerophytic plants in Cactus garden would definitely be eye-catching and wonderful experience to the visitors.
Interpretation centre was created in pleasant atmosphere with all facilities to conduct meetings debates on various subjects by students, employees, industrial sector and other organizations with 100 to 150 capacity.
Environmental Education Center (EEC) has been constructed with beautiful 3D diorama model depicting the forest atmosphere with wild animals and birds and interesting information on forest uses and its important role in human life and also the various sounds of some important animals and birds were displayed to create enthusiasm among the young generation in this centre
Audiovisual room with a capacity of 100 children was developed to display important video clipping on forests wildlife and nature to impart knowledge in the tender brains of students. Besides the above fibre mural models of big Elephant, Giraffe, Indian Gaur (Bison), Spotted deer family and Blackbuck and tree with various birds were displayed in the garden in very attractive fashion.
Keeping in view of the present trend of health consciousness an indoor gym with modern equipment in the beautiful tortoise-shaped enclosure and also open outdoor gym items in the lush green environment have been provided.
Open yoga platform and big yoga shed/meditation centre of more than 200 capacity to do yoga at a time surrounded by green lawns with meditation posture of Buddha statue has been created. 3 Kms pathway for the morning and evening walkers have been provided in the conservation zone of the park.
Children park with various types of play equipment and also corporate adventure games viz jip line, commando net, commando tower, archery, rifle shooting etc have been provided for the enjoyment of children/ and young adults.
An attractive Gazebos with sitting facilities and fenced party zone with beautiful shed to enjoy in groups by families, students employees and others was developed.Snack, coffee & Food House (Restaurant), vending Outlet of Forest Items (in the entrance) are in place for the visitors.
Toilets, Storage tank for water 30 KL to provide free drinking water with RO plant, Sewage Treatment Plant.
Log Hut, Tented cottages, Ethnic Cottages /Tree Cottages on payment basis in the daytime to spend a stress-free life with the serene atmosphere have been provided to the interested visitors with all facilities.
Boating facility would be available to the visitors in the existing pond area with attractive deck .everybody can enjoy this thrilling experience.
For energy Conservation – Grid-connected solar power plant of 30 KW was developed by using the rooftop space of Interpretation and Environmental education centres, battery operated vehicle facility being provided for old & disabled people. Monitoring the impact of Forest- Eco-Tourism, Biodiversity mapping, Regulation of in-flow of tourists/visitors, Electronic Entry Gate, Issue of annual Walkers passes on nominal rates. Presently Google rating of Botanical Garden is 4 out of 5.
