While Andhra Pradesh is opposing simultaneous poll for Loksabha and Assembly, KCR the Telangana chief Minister is ready for the early polls. Why is he agreeing for this is the real question. With early polls, KCR is confident that he will get one vote and the BJP will get the second vote. This is one way of putting the Congress at bay.
These days Congress has grown in confidence in Telangana and is likely that it would be tough for the TRS here. With early polls, Congress will have very little time to get stabilised. Here it will have very less time if the polls are early. There is the issue of fund crunch also for the Congress party.
The early polls can trounce the Congress here in the state and also at the centre. One vote for TRS, KCR is safe in the state and one vote for BJP, that is for Modi at the centre. In this fashion, the TRS can kill BJP and the Congress in the state thereby ensuring power for another term here in the state.
Resources wise both Modi and KCR have no problem, October or November is no problem for them this year. But many states are opposing this move from the centre. Perhaps KCR is the first CM to respond over this. KCR is the first CM to support Modi on demonetisation and also GST. Now he is supporting the early polls also.
If KCR goes for an early poll, the Congress will not have the breathing time. If it is next year the Congress will get the time for rejuvenation and it would be tough for KCR. Then the other parties might go for a Karnataka model, even if the TRS gets a majority here.
That is the reason he agreed for early polls. But either way, he is going to win the election. Telangana is number one in the country in all aspects and it is vouched by CAG.
