A major fire mishap occurred in the firecrackers factory of Warangal located in Kotilingala area. The unit is Bhadrakali fireworks. Most of the dead bodies were blown into flesh pieces and scattered.
It is reported that 10 were dead in the fire on the spot and some more were injured due to burns. The injured were rushed to the MGM hospital. Some of them are critical it is reported. The CM has announced Rs 5 lakh exgratia to the persons who died in the accident.
The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained. 4 Fire engines were pressed into service and the fire is being brought under control.
It is reported that some more could be in the fire and yet to be rescued. Some more dead bodies could be brought out the local people said. Some vehicles also were burnt to ashes in the fire.
No safety measures were taken by the firecrackers factory the preliminary reports said. The dead bodies were also moved to the MGM morgue.
Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekhar Rao expressed shock over the loss of lives in the fire accident at
Warangal. In a message, the CM conveyed condolences to the members of the bereaved families. CM directed the officials concerned to provide better medical facilities for the injured at
government expenses and instructed the collector to take up relief and rehabilitation measures immediately. CM announced Rs 5 Lakh ex gratia for the deceased families and also assured
help in all respects.
People living around the cracker factory were alerted and moved to safety. The rescue operations are going on. The area falls under Warangal Urban.
