Now people are talking about the early polls in the Telugu states and also the centre. It could be in November or December. The centre is ready, the states are also ready. KTR, Harish and Kavitha have started walking the length and breadth of the state. Yesterday KTR was in a big meeting at Rajendranagar and announced about 200 crore for the development of the area along with the centenary of the water body Gandipet.
The history says that early polls always benefitted the opposition, not the ruling party. Three times the early polls were conducted in Andhra Pradesh and the opposition was on the winning side. The Congress tried this and lost. The TDP also did this experiment twice and it failed miserably. Chandrababu wanted to encash on the Alipiri blast incident where he came out safely but lost the election. His strategy failed.
Now the BJP also lost in some by-elections. The atmosphere is not conducive to the ruling party across the country. It is reported that the elections for Panchayat may get postponed as some surveys indicated that the situation is against the TRS. The court ruled out elections at this point of time in the name of BC quota yesterday.
So KCR now must think twice if he is going take the bait of early polls. For TRS it has got nothing to lose if the polls are conducted next year as it is doing fairly well for the public and the law and order is also good in the state.
