A rare virus has attacked people in Kerala and 10 of them died. There is no medicine to stop the deaths so far and the health department has kept the people on alert. The virus is being named as Nipah and the patients are being treated with intensive care.
The health department officials have suggested that the patients with Nipah virus should be isolated and kept separate to see that the others are safe and don’t get the same. There are a dozen patients from North Kerala in the ICU and they are being treated with utmost care.
The experts from National Virology Institue of Pune have confirmed that the deaths occurred were because of the Nipah virus. There is no vaccine or medicine for this virus.
