Asaram Bapu the self-styled Guru who gave company to Salman recently in the Jodhpur Jail was convicted for life in the 2013 rape case. The Jodhpur court along with Aasaram and 2 other aides under the PSCO act and the Juvenile justice act.
Asaram will get a minimum of 10 years jail term or it could be a life term also.
The charge sheet filed against Asaram ays he raped a teenage girl from Shahajahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, who had come to study in his ashram at Chindwara in Madhyapradesh. But Asaram has refuted the charges against him.
While Aasarams advocate said that they will go to the higher court, the girl’s father said that finally, they got the justice. Aasaram has earlier filed 12 bail petitions and all of them were rejected. There is another case of rape pending against Aasaram and his son Narain Sai. This case will also come up soon and the verdict will be given.
