There are several reports where fathers raped daughters. But her one lady has come out in open.
Emma Burt was 15 when she was first raped by the man she probably trusted the most – her own father. Now 19, Burt decided to go public with her story, without withholding her identity.
According to a reports, Burt’s biological father, 40-year-old Christopher Edwards, drugged and raped her for a period of two years and has been sentenced to 12 years in jail on charges of sexual activity and for taking indecent pictures of his daughter.
Burt had gone to live with Edwards in 2012 after having an argument with her mother, with whom she had a strained relationship.
He sexually assaulted the teenager within a month of her moving in. He went to rape her when she was sleeping and later also starting making her take a cocktail of drugs. “He used to jokingly call me his wife. I was practically a wife,” she said.
Burt said that Edwards started making her take drugs so that he could control her easily. “In the first two months of his abusing me, he would never talk about how he raped me.
He just would sort of wait until I was asleep or close to sleeping, then the drugs came into it from about three months onwards,” she said.
