The untimely death of veteran actor Sridevi has sent shockwaves across India with Bollywood bigwigs as well as political leaders expressing their grief and anguish at the loss.
“Right now, the police are engaged in forensics report. We are in touch with the family and the local authorities to provide all possible assistance,” Navdeep Singh Suri, Indian Ambassador to UAE, told news agency .
Sources have told that they are expected to land in Mumbai on Sunday between 12 pm to 2 pm by cargo or a private jet at the cargo airport terminal of Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, after which the mortal remains will be taken to Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s Lokhandwala home, where people will be allowed to pay their last rites to the actor.
A large number of people and tearful fans have gathered outside her residence to bid their icon goodbye.
Sridevi had started her career as a child artiste and grew up to be one of the biggest female stars India ever had.
Sridevi has received several Filmfare awards and was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2013, which is India’s fourth highest civilian award from the Government of India.
