The BSNL is in deep trouble no funds at their disposable. People are surrendering the land lines day in and day out as they are just taking money in form of rentals even without usage by the customers.
The Minimum bill is Rs 500 to Rs 600 and there is no value for money for this land line service. People do not know how to monitor the free calls on this box.
The workers have no work at the BSNL offices except for taking the surrendered telephones. The real issue is that they are not able to give the deposit amount immediately even after the cancellation of the landlines. They are taking the connection off, but they are not returning the deposit even after a year or so.
This is the real issue. Some of them have Rs 3000 and some others have given Rs 2000 as deposits and the people are going around these offices for the reimbursement of the deposits.
Insiders say that the BSNL is in red and that was the reason they are unable to pay back the deposits.
The Government and the minister should look into the plight of the people who are yet to get the deposits back.
Using the mobile is the best way and it is also economical these days. Keeping a dubba and paying Rs 500 as rentals without any benefit is a mere waste.
