Much to the delight of the fashion connoisseurs, ‘IKAT Mela 2016’ a 8 day Handloom Products exhibition begins at Y.M.C.A Hall, Narayanaguda. The Mela organized by Handloom Park, It will be on till 19st September 2016.
Actress Anchal Singh inaugurated the Mela by lighting the traditional lamp. “It’s glad to see various apparel, particularly designer Fabrics, silk and cotton sarees, to be showcased for the Fashion Connoisseurs” said Actress Anchal Singh. “Platforms such as this are required to reach out women looking for well-designed handmade cotton, silk wear & exclusive home textile” she added.
“Handlooms are part of an age old Indian tradition- element of Indian culture and rich artistry. By promoting hand-looms, we support the artisans and local community who have been passing on their skills for generations. Promoting creativity and originality, each design is a result of individual artisan’s creativity which is influenced by the local traditions and cultures” Chairman Devender Said.
