Cops in Mathura may now be seen wearing uniforms featuring an image of Lord Krishna.
While it is not yet sure, the development has been confirmed by Mathura senior superintendent of police (SSP) Swapnil Mangain.
It must be noted that word about this development comes after the Uttar Pradesh government declared the town of Vrindavan as an official “holy pilgrimage site”.
It has come to light that policemen in Mathura will be given new uniforms with logos on shoulder badges – all with an image of Krishna.
Mangain said, “The purpose behind the logos is to make UP Police more tourist-friendly.”
The new plan is being mulled following the criticism it received after the assault on a Swiss couple in Fatehpur Sikri by some local youths.
