RANA means Ramanaidu. He was named after his grandfather late Ramanaidu who is called as the movie mogul.
Rana was born on 14 December 1984 in Chennai to producer Suresh Babu and received his basic education in Hyderabad.
In 2010, he made his big screen debut with ‘Leader’ and began a new chapter in life. The film was directed by Shekhar Kammula and received good reviews upon release.
Thereafter, he went on to star in popular films such as ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’ and ‘Naa Ishtam’, carving a niche for himself.
In 2015, he played the antagonist in ‘Baahubali’ and became the talk of the town. An SS Rajamouli directorial, it became a blockbuster and propelled him to the big league.
Rana reprised his role in ‘Baahubali 2’—which hit screens in 2017—and did an equally impressive job.
The film, just like the first part, became a huge hit and helped him continue his accent. 2017 also saw him play the lead role in ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’ and get the thumbs up from critics.
