For the first time after the amendment of the Preventive Detention Act in the State, a white collar/financial offender, who was involved in many as 10 cheating offences across the police limits of Rachakonda, Hyderabad City and Nalgonda district has been detained.
Charged with duping gullible persons to the tune of several crores since 2009, Jonnagari Aruna Reddy has been lodged in the special prison for women at Chanchalguda.
Aruna Reddy got a job in the Ordnance Factory, Yeddumailaram on compassionate grounds after her husband died in a road accident.
However, she was suspended from the job after a case of cheating was filed by the UCO bank for pledging fake land documents for a loan of Rs 40 lakh availed by her father and was arrested by the CBI along with her sister.
