Defying the tainted egg scandal that recently shook European consumers, a small town in Belgium did the unthinkable by making an omelette with 10,000 eggs for its annual festival.
Specialized cooks and volunteers made this possible using big utensils, an oversized oiled pan, green onions and bacon.
Ten thousand hens’ eggs were used for this traditional event in the town of Malmedy near the German border. The giant omelette was then distributed to hungry public.
