700 days for Amaravathi agitation

The farmers of Amaravathi who gave lands for the capital are on agitation for the last 700 days demanding the Government to retain Amaravathi as the lone capital of the Andhra Pradesh state as assured by the earlier Government.

BJP leader and Union Minister for Home Amit Shah has also clarified that they are supporting the Amaravathi agitation. It was PM Modi who laid the foundation stone for the construction of Amaravathi during the TDP regime.

The matter is pending in the court and the advocates are hopeful that the court will protect the interest of the farming community by retaining Amaravathi as the state capital.

The farmers are going on a rally in the same of Nyasthanam to Devasthanam. They are supposed to reach Tirumala Tirupathi iDevasthanama in a day or two.

It is reported that the matter went to the notice of the CJI Ramana who is a Telugu man. The CJI wanted the issue to be resolved at the earliest.
