So far there is no solution found for the Amaravathi agitation. The Jaganmohan Reddy Government is adamant that there will be 3 capitals for the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The Court cases are pending against the 3 capitals. The petitions are also pending with the central Government. Save Amaravathi is the slogan of the agitators.
Perhaps this is the first time in history that agitation has been going on for the last 500 days. CM Jagan on the other hand has never bothered to look into the issue.
Jagan wants to rule the state from Visakhapatnam and not Amaravathi. The state secretariat and Court were also constructed and are working from Amaravathi.
The Amaravati protests since the last 500 days are primarily led by the local farmers of the 29 capital area villages who parted with about 33,000-acre fertile lands for the capital in 2015. They are supported by the TDP, Janasena, Left, parties.
The agitation was started on the 17th of December, last year after the CM Jagan made the announcement on the capitals in the Assembly.
The parties in the state Telugu Desam Party(TDP), Janasena, and the saffron party have extended their support to the farmers’ agitation.
Talking about BJP support, the Andhra Pradesh wing of BJP extended their support to the agitation, while the union government led by the BJP in its affidavit said the capital issue comes under the state matters and it cannot intervene. It was PM Modi who laid the foundation stone for the capital Amaravathi.
Telangana CM KCR was also present along with Chandrababu during the stone laying ceremony for the capital Amaravathi.
