An innovative and revolutionary scheme in the field of agriculture Rythubandhu has completed 5 years today since it was introduced in Telangana state. When he fought for the achievement of Telangana, the leader of Telangana movement, state achiever and our Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri K.Chandrashekar Rao gave the highest importance to the Agriculture sector and made it a state without farmers suicides, provided water to every acre and gave 24 hours free electricity to the agriculture sector and realized them.
That's why when Telangana formed in 2014, crop investment was started in 2018 through "Rythubandhu"scheme with the intention of making agriculture a festival of ponds are first repaired, pending projects were completed, new projects are constructed quickly and investment assistance is provided to them.
65,500 crores has been provided in 10 releases to 70 lakh farmers at the rate of Rs.10,000 per acre per annum. UNO hails this scheme as one of the most impactful schemes in the world, which was started in Telangana like nowhere else in the world. MS Swaminathan, the father of Indian agriculture, praised it, and people like Ashok Gulati, a prominent agricultural economist, said it was good. That is why the agricultural sector of Telangana has become the flagship of India.
To become a suicide-free state, increase in crop area from 131.34 lakh acres in 2014-15 to 209 lakh acres in 2022-23, Paddy has moved up from 15th position in 2014-15 to 2nd position today, leading in terms of yield, Cotton is 2nd in the country, and Chilli is at 1st position.
Also Telangana State is the only state which has set up more than 7000 rice grain collection centers unlike anywhere else in the country and is buying the entire grain. "Rythu Bandhu" scheme was introduced by the Telangana State Government and implemented by the Central Government and various states in a small scale which is a matter of pride for us.
