30 percent hike in wages for contract and outsourcing workers

The minimum wages of casual labour/daily wage worker, full-time contingent worker/consolidated pay worker and part-time worker, was fixed by the government.

The wages have been hiked from Rs 300 to Rs 390 per day for daily wage worker, Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,400 per month for full-time contingent worker/consolidated pay worker, and from Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,200 per month for part-time worker. The revision of wages will be implemented with effect from this June payable in July.

After implementing the 30 per cent hike in fitment for the government employees and pensioners, the State government on Tuesday issued orders enhancing the remuneration of contract and outsourcing staff commencing from the current month of June, payable in July. Similarly, the wages of casual labours, part-time workers and consolidated pay workers also have been hiked by nearly 30 per cent in the State.

The State government has already fixed consolidated remuneration of contract and outsourcing personnel working in different government departments and affiliated organisations.

As per the recommendations made by the Pay Revision Commission of 2020, the government has decided to enhance the remuneration by 30 per cent of the existing remuneration or the minimum of the time scale attached to the similar category of comparable post in the Revised Pay Scale of 2020, whichever is less.
