The trade unions have begun the two-day nationwide strike against the anti-worker policies of the government and for not able to create jobs as promised. The Autos and Taxi services are also observing bandh in some parts of the country.

Most of the central trade unions and some universities have joined the 2-day strike for the unilateral reforms being implemented by the NDA Government. The strike is evident in around dozen states where the Congress and communists are prominent.

It is also evident in some industrial areas. In Hyderabad, it looks somewhat partial and in some place, it looked as if there is no strike happening. 10 central Trade unions and 20 crore workers are participating in the strike. This is for two days to pressurise the NDA Government.

The BMS affiliated to RSSis not participating in the strike. The Government led by Narendra Modi did not bother to call to striking unions for a settlement. Earlier they have protested in September. Now they are on a 2-day strike.

It has to be seen if any Minster or committee would be appointed by the PM Modi to negotiate with the unions.

It may be noted that after losing the 3 states the BJP graph is going down, and the NDA leaders led by Modi are trying to get back. The General elections are a few months away and it is the right time for Modi to strike a balance with the striking unions and workers.

Some unions of the farming community have also extended support to the Trade unions for this 2-day strike.
