More than 136 people were killed in Tanzania when a boat capsized in the waters. About 400 people were using the ferry and it was overloaded and finally nose-dived into the waters. It can be stated as one of the worlds biggest tragedy in the recent times.
About 85 people were rescued from the lake victoria of South Africa according to the information reaching here. The boat was about 200 metres away from the destination when it capsized the local authorities said. People were in fact overloaded as there a rush to buy goods for that week in the local market.
Tanzania is a poor country. The people drown here now and then and it is a common accident. But 136 people getting killed is a big tragedy in the recent times. The relief and rescue operations are going on it is reported. The local authorities have rushed ambulances to the spot and expert drivers are fishing for the bodies here in the Victoria Lake.
The capacity of the local ferry is just 100, but about 400 were using the ferry leaving the precaution to winds.
