The center has finalised a package of about Rs 1.5 lakh crore for the new state of AP. But it has not announced the special status as requested by the CM of AP Chandrababu and others leaders of the state. Technically that is not possible the centre has clarified. On the other hand the CM of AP has refused to go to Delhi today for discussing the issues of package and also Special status. Instead he was seen discussing the matter with his core team of ministers here in the state.
Meanwhile the Minister for finance Arun Jaitley took the MPs of TDP into confidence before announcing the package. He made last minute changes by shuttling between the PMO and other Ministries it is reported. The said amount would be spent for various sectors and heads. The center is of the opinion that the package was better than the proposed special status.
There was allocation for Amaravathi construction, education, Polavaram project and other things. There is a scope for further deliberations over the matter and it is learnt that CM of AP would visit Delhi over this matter.
