Mr Gandhi&#8217;s mother, Sonia Gandhi, who is Congress chief, has been coordinating the opposition&#8217;s strategy which is centered on naming a common candidate if the government&#8217;s choice is not deemed satisfactory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-93110 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/ramo.jpg\" alt=\"ramo\" width=\"660\" height=\"440\" \/><br \/>\nPrime Minister Modi is meeting top leaders including party chief Amit Shah; sources say the ruling coalition could name its candidate today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Pranab Mukherjee&#8217;s term expires on July 24.
