The ongoing organisational elections must be completed with the utmost speed and sincerity,\u201d she said at the meeting, ahead of the CWC approving the poll schedule.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Asked whether the issue of elevation of Rahul was discussed at the meeting, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad replied in the negative.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe schedule for organisational elections has been cleared by the CWC,\u201d Azad said, adding that Rahul\u2019s elevation was not specifically discussed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CWC members had in the last meeting in November unanimously expressed \u201cstrong sentiment\u201d for Rahul\u2019s elevation for the first time and may take it further.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sonia Gandhi may step down from the Congress presidentship, paving the way for Rahul Gandhi\u2019s possible elevation when the party holds its internal elections by October 15.
