Searches were on at four places in Delhi and Dehradun in Uttarakhand, sources said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-89097 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/581629-prannoy-roy.jpg\" alt=\"CBI raids NDTV Prannoy Roy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/581629-prannoy-roy.jpg 640w, https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/581629-prannoy-roy-500x280.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CBI had last week registered a case into alleged irregularities in a 2008 loan that the holding company took from ICICI Bank.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company took a loan of Rs 366 crore allegedly on personal guarantees of the promoters and settled for a repayment a year later that was Rs 50 crore less than the loaned amount, CBI sources said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The case was registered by the agency\u2019s banking fraud division.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cA case of bank fraud has been registered against RRPR and unknown bank officials. This is part of CBI\u2019s recent crackdown on bank frauds and wilful defaulters,\u201d a CBI source said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-89098 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/cbi-770x433.jpg\" alt=\"CBI raids NDTV Prannoy Roy\" width=\"770\" height=\"433\" srcset=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/cbi-770x433.jpg 770w, https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/cbi-770x433-500x280.jpg 500w, https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/cbi-770x433-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Enforcement Directorate and income tax (I-T) authorities were investigating NDTV since 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recently, the Delhi high court allowed I-T department to proceed against NDTV in a separate case for receiving funds from a foreign funding institution and settling the account 80 % less than the original amount.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CBI and ED are also investigating RRPR for funds it received from foreign entities in connection with an investigation into Aircel-Maxis case and that of purchase of planes by Air India.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday searched the office and homes of NDTV news channel promoters Prannoy Roy and his wife Radhika in connection with a bank fraud, an agency official said.
