{"id":87081,"date":"2017-05-30T10:34:27","date_gmt":"2017-05-30T05:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/?p=87081"},"modified":"2017-05-30T10:34:27","modified_gmt":"2017-05-30T05:04:27","slug":"40-of-ramdev-products-are-substandard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/40-of-ramdev-products-are-substandard\/","title":{"rendered":"40% of Ramdev products are substandard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nearly 40% of Ayurveda products, including items from Baba Ramdev\u2019s Patanjali, were found to be of substandard quality by Haridwar\u2019s Ayurveda and Unani Office, a Right to Information (RTI) reply revealed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Out of the 82 samples collected between 2013 and 2016, 32 failed the quality test. Patanjali\u2019s Divya Amla Juice and Shivlingi Beej were among the products that failed to meet the quality standards.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Last month, the armed forces\u2019 Canteen Stores Department (CSD) had suspended the sale of a batch of Patanjali\u2019s amla juice after it \u2018failed\u2019 a quality test carried out at West Bengal Public Health Laboratory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-87082 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/patanjali-products-lead.jpg\" alt=\"40% of Ramdev products are substandard\" width=\"759\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Uttarakhand state government lab report, the pH value- which measures the alkalinity of water soluble substances- was found to be less than the prescribed limit in the amla juice. Products with pH value less than seven could lead to acidity and other medical complications.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The RTI reply also revealed that 31.68% of foreign matter was found in the Shivlingi Beej.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ramdev\u2019s associate and Patanjali\u2019s managing director, Acharya Balkrishna, denied the lab report. \u201cShivlingi Beej is a natural seed. How can we adulterate it?\u201d, he said and claimed that the report was an attempt to malign Patanjali\u2019s image.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Besides Patanjali products, 18 samples of Ayurveda drugs such as Avipattikara Churna, Talisadya Churna, Pushyanuga Churna, Lavan Bhaskar Churna, Yograj Guggulu, Laksha Guggulu were also found substandard.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nearly 40% of Ayurveda products, including items from Baba Ramdev\u2019s Patanjali, were found to be of substandard quality by Haridwar\u2019s Ayurveda and Unani Office, a Right to Information (RTI) reply revealed.
