{"id":84489,"date":"2017-05-18T17:51:30","date_gmt":"2017-05-18T12:21:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/?p=84489"},"modified":"2017-05-18T17:51:30","modified_gmt":"2017-05-18T12:21:30","slug":"icj-stays-jadhav-verdict-sushma-happy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/icj-stays-jadhav-verdict-sushma-happy\/","title":{"rendered":"ICJ stays Jadhav verdict -Sushma happy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The International Court of Justice has stayed the execution of Jadhav who has been sentenced to death by a Pakistan military court on charges of espionage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ICJ instructed Pakistan to take all \u201cnecessary measures at its disposal\u201d to ensure that Jadhav was not executed pending a final decision by it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Minutes after the ICJ\u2019s order, external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted: \u201cWe are grateful to Mr. Harish Salve for presenting India\u2019s case so effectively before ICJ.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-84491 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/8296_Sushma-Swaraj.jpg\" alt=\"8296_Sushma Swaraj\" width=\"759\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Monday, Swaraj had tweeted to say Salve charged the government a token one rupee fee after he argued India\u2019s case at the International Court of Justice against the death penalty to Jadhav by Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The minister had to step in after a tweet said India could have picked up a less expensive lawyer to defend the former Indian navy officer at the world court.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sixty-one-year-old Salve is one of India\u2019s most expensive lawyers who charges anything between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh for a court appearance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-84492 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Kulbhushan1-kUUB-621x414@LiveMint.jpg\" alt=\"Kulbhushan1-kUUB--621x414@LiveMint\" width=\"621\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The chartered accountant-turned-lawyer, who according to media reports is partial to Apple products, specialises in tax law but is equally comfortable in criminal and constitutional matters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Perhaps that explains his list of clients that includes business tycoons Mukesh Ambani, Ratan Tata and Sunil Mittal.
