Improved behaviour and well-being can result simply from ensuring that a child\u2019s positive actions are rewarded with praise and parents are seen to be observing their good behaviour,\u201d said Sue Westwood from De Montfort University in the UK.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-82204 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Don\u2019t-Praise-When-You-Don\u2019t-Mean-It.jpg\" alt=\"          Praise your kids -no holds bar\" width=\"607\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Don\u2019t-Praise-When-You-Don\u2019t-Mean-It.jpg 880w, https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Don\u2019t-Praise-When-You-Don\u2019t-Mean-It-768x401.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 607px) 100vw, 607px\" \/><br \/>\nAbout 38 parents with children, aged between two and four years, were recruited to take part in the study over a four-week period, filling out a questionnaire to monitor behaviour and well-being and being given information on how to praise their child effectively.<\/p>\n<p>Those parents who succeeded in offering their child five pieces of praise each day, alongside catching their child\u2019s good behaviour, saw an improvement in the child\u2019s well-being when compared to a control group.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-82205 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/feelings81.jpg\" alt=\" Praise your kids -no holds bar\" width=\"540\" height=\"361\" \/><br \/>\nThis in turn led to improved behaviour and reduced levels of hyperactivity and inattention. \u201cFollowing the five praises initiative led to improved behaviour as well as reduced levels of hyperactivity across just a four week period,\u201d said Westwood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis simple, cost effective intervention shows the importance of effective parental praise and, when used on a regular basis, it has been shown to have a significant impact,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just pat them- hug them and praise them.
