Modi advanced presentation of Budget date from February 28 to February 1 for an early release of funds for government expenditure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Apart from that, breaking away from tradition of holding a separate rail budget, Modi government scrapped it and clubbed together railway proposals with the general Budget. Earlier, it had scrapped Planning Commission, symbol of a mixed economy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-79513 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Rupee-621x414.jpg\" alt=\"Financial year from Jan1?\" width=\"621\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now Modi government is working on plans to change financial year set up that presently starts from April 1 and lasts till March 31.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On April 23, Modi chaired governing council meeting of India&#8217;s planning think-tank Niti Aayog that was also attended by vice-chairman Arvind Panagariya.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-79514\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/arvindpanagariya-k4v-621x414@LiveMint.jpg\" alt=\"Financial year from Jan1?\" width=\"619\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The proposal in favour of a January-December financial year cropped up at the meet.
