A London-based start-up is slowly making it a reality. How many times have you bought a plastic bottle of water and tossed it after a single use?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rocks Lab, an innovative sustainable packaging start-up, hopes that never happens again. It is using 100 per cent natural materials extracted from plants and seaweed to create environmentally-friendly packaging. With their first product.The start-up hopes to revolutionise how we hydrate ourselves.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-79162\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/GettyImages-494501198-700x525.jpg\" alt=\"Human hand taking mineral water from shelf in supermarket\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Modelled after fruit membranes &#8211; think oranges &#8211; Ooho is created by taking a ball of ice and then covering it in layers of membrane made from calcium chloride and a seaweed derivative called sodium alginate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The membrane is biodegradable and disappears within 4-6 weeks. And if the idea of biting into a blob of water freaks you out, don&#8217;t worry. That part is completely optional.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">People are really enthusiastic about the fact that you can create a material for packaging matter that is so harmless that you can eat it.&#8221;<br \/>\n.According to the start-up, the spherical flexible packaging can also be used for other liquids including soft drinks and, yes, even alcohol.
