{"id":78107,"date":"2017-04-17T14:00:58","date_gmt":"2017-04-17T08:30:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/?p=78107"},"modified":"2017-04-17T14:00:58","modified_gmt":"2017-04-17T08:30:58","slug":"snapchat-ceo-denies-allegations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/snapchat-ceo-denies-allegations\/","title":{"rendered":"Snapchat CEO denies allegations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Evan Spiegel, the CEO of Snapchat, has denied saying that he didn\u2019t want to expand into \u201cpoor countries like India and Spain\u201d, his app was the talking point on social media for all the wrong reasons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In India, #BoycottSnapchat and #UninstallSnapchat trended on social media after an interview of his company\u2019s ex-employee, Anthony Pompliano, appeared in Variety Magazine, in which he said that Spiegel had told him: I don\u2019t want to expand into poor countries like India and Spain.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-78110\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/snapchat-inc.jpg\" alt=\"Snapchat CEO denies allegations\" width=\"759\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pompliano, who was fired by Snapchat, claimed that Spiegel told him this during a meeting in 2015. However, the response from Snap.inc (the parent company of short video-clips-based social media platform) was, \u201cThis is ridiculous. Obviously Snapchat is for everyone! It\u2019s available worldwide to download for free.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, Twitterati continued taking digs at Spiegel without knowing the whole story behind it. \u201cYour great companies work because of Indian\u2019s brains. And yet we\u2019re poor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What according to you defines \u201cPOOR\u201d #boycottsnapchat (sic),\u201d tweeted @spartan8188. @arvindstar_wrote, \u201cDear \u201cRich\u201d @Snapchat, Good Bye from my \u201cPoor\u201d mobile.
