No not about the UP elections or the bad law and order.\u00a0 Devotees thronged the Hanuman Temple Meerganj locality of the city after the news spread that Lord Hanuman\u2019s idol was shedding tears, shrine officials said on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-66176\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/hanuman-new-1.jpg\" alt=\" Is this Hanuman crying !\" width=\"472\" height=\"295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/hanuman-new-1.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/hanuman-new-1-768x480.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 472px) 100vw, 472px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">People started visiting the temple since early morning to watch the \u2018miracle\u2019. \u201cThe devotees started chanting \u2018Hanuman Chalisa\u2019, Ram Dhun and devotional songs after witnessing the miracle. Some also saw it as a bad omen,\u201d temple priest Rajbhawan Pandey aka Bhola Pandit told media.<\/p>\n<p>The priest said he spotted what appeared like \u2018tears\u2019 flowing from the eyes of Lord Hanuman\u2019s idol when he reached the temple in the morning. \u201cThe news spread like wildfire after which devotees started arriving from near and far,\u201d he added. Scientists, however, said the development could be the result of a chemical reaction.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-66175\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/hanuman.jpg\" alt=\"Is this Hanuman crying !\" width=\"503\" height=\"254\" srcset=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/hanuman.jpg 870w, https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/hanuman-768x388.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 503px) 100vw, 503px\" \/><br \/>\n\u201cA proper study is required to identify the reason for the \u2018tears\u2019. Presence of mercuric oxide in vermillion which is usually applied in multiple layers on the idols of Lord Hanuman all over the country may be behind the phenomenon. Mercuric oxide can absorb water without dissolving in it.<\/p>\n<p>Once saturation point is reached, the excess water starts rolling down the idol which may be taken as \u2018tears\u2019.
