There hasn\u2019t been such demonetisation in a country so big,\u201d media quoted her as saying.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Last year, the International Monetary Fund also said words of compliment for demonetisation that was widely seen as a corruption control measure. The anti- black money step sucked out over 86 per cent of cash in circulation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-65938\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/guide_to_rs_1000_5000_blog-header-1.jpg\" alt=\" World Bank praises Modi-Note ban \" width=\"553\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Georgieva drew parallels between Prime Minister Modi&#8217;s money ban and calling back of high denomination bills by European Union, which is effecting note ban in a phased manner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On November 8, last year the government announced it was scraping legal tender status of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 note effective midnight.
