{"id":62701,"date":"2017-02-18T14:44:38","date_gmt":"2017-02-18T14:44:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/?p=62701"},"modified":"2017-02-20T05:48:41","modified_gmt":"2017-02-20T05:48:41","slug":"sania-blasts-media","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/sania-blasts-media\/","title":{"rendered":"Sania blasts media"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ace Indian tennis star and Telangana brand ambassador Sania Mirza has launched a scathing attack on the country&#8217;s media, saying a certain sections of it choose to highlight the negative news rather than focusing on her entry into the semi-finals of the ongoing Qatar Open.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 30-year-old&#8217;s comments came a day after she denied service tax evasion in response to a notice issued last week by the Central Board of Excise and Customs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-62702 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Sania-Mirza-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"Sania blasts media\" width=\"594\" height=\"441\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mirza and her Czech Republic partner Barbora Strycova stormed into the women&#8217;s doubles last-four stage of the Qatar Open after registering a 6-4, 6-3 win over Canadian-Croatian team of Gabriela Dabrowski and Darija Jurak in the quarter-final clash.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Indo-Czech duo, however, later on Friday lost to American-Slovenian team of Abigail Spears and Katarina Srebotnik in their semi-final clash.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On February 9, the Hyderabad service tax department issued a notice to Mirza for allegedly evading service tax on the amount of Rs 1 crore she received from the Telangana government for becoming its brand ambassador in July 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-62703 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Sania-Mirza-Hot-Photo-2013-05.jpg\" alt=\"Sania blasts media\" width=\"594\" height=\"493\" srcset=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Sania-Mirza-Hot-Photo-2013-05.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Sania-Mirza-Hot-Photo-2013-05-768x637.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 594px) 100vw, 594px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She was asked to answer the summons either in person or through an authorized agent on February 16.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sania&#8217;s accountant appeared on her behalf.
