That is the state of affairs.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">But there is one hotel which has been giving food at a very cheaper rate yes dam cheap price since last several decades.\u00a0At a \u00a0time when it is increasingly difficult to buy a cup of tea under Rs. 10, a hotel in Sullia town of Mangalore is selling meals for just that amount. Yes at Rs 10 only.\u00a0 Located in Shreeamapete,\u00a0Hotel Ramaprasad was founded 78 years ago by\u00a0Venkatesh Sarlaya, who had migrated from Kasargod, Kerala.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">\u00a0He started the\u00a0eatery in a hut\u00a0with a thatched roof and it came to be known as Saralaya Hotel after the owner\u2019s name.Meals at\u00a0Saralaya Hotel were available just for 25 paise back in 1938. The price went\u00a0up to Rs. 5\u00a0by 2014, and is Rs. 10 right now.\u00a0Venkatesh\u2019s son Sundara Saralaya has taken over the restaurant and has been running it for the past 46 years.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">\u00a0When asked how he manages to serve at least 200 people in a day at such a nominal rate, he told\u00a0that other items on the menu are fairly priced and are\u00a0at\u00a0par with the prevailing market prices.\u201cGetting a meal is still difficult for many, particularly students, and hence I have continued the tradition,\u201d he\u00a0said.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Food or cooked rice is Parabrahma swaroopam.
