There was a heavy rush of pilgrims today, the penultimate day before culmination of the 41-day mandala pooja.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-47403\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/16-01-16-06-12-32-0.jpg\" alt=\"Sabiramala\" width=\"763\" height=\"477\" srcset=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/16-01-16-06-12-32-0.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/16-01-16-06-12-32-0-768x480.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 763px) 100vw, 763px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The stampede occurred just as the holy &#8216;Thanga Angi&#8217; procession carrying ornaments worn by Lord Ayyappa on Mandala pooja tomorrow had reached the temple this evening.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The procession starts from Aranmula Sree Parthasarthy temple four days before the Mandala pooja. Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran said there was a heavy rush of pilgrims at the shrine when the thanga angi was brought.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-47405\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/26tvpt-injured1.jpg\" alt=\"Sabiramala\" width=\"752\" height=\"530\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He was at the temple shortly before the stampede and had left the shrine after &#8216;deeparadhana&#8217; (evening prayers) with Thanga Angi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The minister said he was on his way to the hospital.
