The CPI report said the \u201cOpening Day Foundation\u201d was planning to hold a fundraising event on January 21, the day after the inauguration. The report said major donors would receive: a \u201cprivate reception and photo opportunity for 16 guests\u201d with Mr Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-45836\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Talbot-Trump-The-Lying-Media-1200.jpg\" alt=\"Trump running away from Media \" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Talbot-Trump-The-Lying-Media-1200.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Talbot-Trump-The-Lying-Media-1200-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Trump team has denied the president-elect\u2019s sons were behind the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the other hand Donald Trump was supposed to have held his first proper press conference in five months. But then the event was put off; his aides now talk vaguely about holding it early in the New Year. It being merely a case of battle deferred, not battle avoided.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If one theme of the next four years already seems set, it is that of conflict between the 45th president and the media \u2013 yes the hoary old mainstream media, fighting off countless new challengers to be sure, but which still sets America\u2019s real news agenda.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The sheer novelty of the situation will make the conflict more intense. Trump is a President-elect who has defied every standard rule of politics, who said and did things that would have destroyed any normal candidate, but not him.
